Tonya W. Gendin
Tonya is a Consul at the American Consulate General Chennai. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and Economics from Mount Union College in 1992 and a Master’s of Science degree in Management from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1994. Tonya also attended Kent State University and is currently working on her dissertation towards a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration. Tonya has experience working for the Social Security Administration and as an international educator at several colleges and universities. She joined the U.S. Department of State in 2004 as a Foreign Service Officer. Tonya’s previous postings include Manila, Philippines and Kyiv, Ukraine.
