The American Library organized a presentation on Storytelling, Libraries and Literacy, at the American Consulate General on October 24 with American storyteller Ruth Stotter.  Entertaining more than 70 students, teachers and the general public, Stotter traced the development of storytelling in the United States and its cultural significance.  She also highlighted the important role played by Libraries and Library Associations in the development of storytelling as an art form.  Interspersing her presentation with American stories provided the audience an opportunity to experience American culture through storytelling.
