Ravi Srivastava
Ravi Srivastava is a Vice Consul at the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai. He was born in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) and raised in U.P., Madhya Pradesh, and the Punjab. He graduated from I.I.T. Madras with a B. Tech. in Civil Engineering and subsequently studied at Iowa State University (M.S., Sanitary Engineering), University of Illinois at Urbana (Ph.D., Environmental Engineering), and Colorado State University at Fort Collins (M.B.A.).
He’s been a student and a teacher for more than half of his life, but mostly he has been involved in the environmental engineering arena as a water/sewer engineer for the last 20 years. In 2008, he joined the U.S. diplomatic corps as a Foreign Service Officer and Chennai is his first posting. He is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu, and is currently learning Tamil.
