U.S. Embassy Announces Death Of Former Ambassador To India Robert F. Goheen

NEW DELHI -- United States Charge d'Affaires Steven J. White today announced the death of former United States Ambassador to India Robert F. Goheen. Ambassador Goheen passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008 in Princeton, New Jersey.

Appointed by President Jimmy Carter, Ambassador Goheen served as U.S. Ambassador to India from May 1977 through December 1980. Charge d'Affaires White offered condolences on behalf of the Embassy community to Ambassador Goheen's family and friends around the world.
