Statement by Geoffrey Pyatt, Charge d’Affaires On the Hyderabad Mosque Bombing

New Delhi -- The United States is deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of Indian life resulting from the bombing of the Mecca Masjid on Friday, May 18, 2007.  The United States condemns this deliberate terrorist attack on Hyderabad’s oldest and largest mosque where thousands of Indian worshippers attend prayers every Friday. There is no justification for violence against innocent people, and we extend our sincere condolences to families of the victims of this criminal act.
