Maxwell Hamilton

Political and Economic Officer

Maxwell Hamilton currently serves as a political and economic officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai.  He is one of two officers responsible for representing U.S. interests in southern India.

Mr. Hamilton joined the Foreign Service in 2008.  In his previous assignment he served as vice consul and economic officer at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Hamilton worked as a reporter and taught economics and government at an inner-city high school.

Mr. Hamilton graduated from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
