Political and Economic Officer
Matthew Beh began service on the staff of Andrew T. Simkin, United States Consul General in Chennai, India in April 2010.
From 2008-2009, he was posted to Washington in the European Affairs Bureau of the U.S. Department of State, handling climate change and clean energy. Posted from 2005-2007 at U.S. Embassy Beijing, he served as Staff Assistant to Ambassador Clark T. Randt, Jr. Mr. Beh has received two Superior and three Meritorious Honor Awards.
Before entering the United States Foreign Service in 2004, Mr. Beh developed and programmed conferences for The Bond Buyer, a New York daily newspaper covering municipal bonds. He also worked on the staff of the U.S. House of Representatives in the offices of United States Congressmen Mike Doyle and Bill Luther. He received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and pursued MBA coursework at New York University in New York City. Mr. Beh is married to Asha Cornelio Beh and has two sons.
