ELT Workshop for Madrasa Teachers

Ms. Frances Westbrook, H.H. Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali and Consul General Andrew Simkin at the Valedictory Function

April 30: About 30 Madrasa teachers from Tamil Nadu and Kerala learned interactive English teaching skills during a 10-day English Language Training Workshop organized by the U.S. Consulate General-Chennai and The Seethakathi Trust. Frances Westbrook from the U.S. Department of State Office of English Language Programs was the lead resource person. Consul General Andrew T. Simkin attended the valedictory function and awarded certificates to the participating teachers. Other eminent personalities at the valedictory on April 30 at the Buhari Aalim Arabic College, B.S. Abdur Rahman University included H.H. Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, Prince of Arcot; Mr. Moosa Raza, Chairman, Southern India Education Trust (SIET); Mr. Khalid Buhari, Secretary, Seethakathi Trust and Dr. Dawood Shah, Director, Crescent School, Chennai.
