Business Information: U.S. firms seeking information on the bona fides of prospective Indian business partners can often obtain credit reports through banks or through commercial reporting agencies. Citibank of New York and Bank of America have branches in Mumbai (Bombay), Kolkata (Calcutta), Chennai (Madras) and New Delhi. American Express has branches in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai as well as representatives in all the major cities in India.
