Impact of Experience America

The U.S. Consulate's exhibit "Experience America" gave a glimpse of the life in the United States to the people of Coimbatore from September 24-26, 2007. Featuring book exhibits, documentary films, music concerts, lectures, roundtable discussion and Digital Video Conferences, the exhibition was led by U.S. Embassy and Consulate officials and other eminent personalities from the U.S. The exhibition highlighted a range of issues including the growing Indo-U.S. diplomatic, trade and people-to-people relations, U.S. history and its multi-ethnic and multi-religious society, global environmental and public health concerns as well as higher education opportunities and student visas. It also showcased the various services, resources, programs of the U.S. Consulate which were available to students, professionals and the public in general. Held in partnership with leading educational institutions and business associations in Coimbatore, Experience America was visited and appreciated by a large number of Coimbatore citizens - a city which is fast expanding and gaining importance as an major international investment destination as well as center of higher learning in India.
