Consul General Hosts Iftaar to Mark Ramadan

Continuing a tradition by his predecessors, Consul General Andrew Simkin hosted an iftaar at his residence on September 9, 2009.  This year, several distinguished members of other faiths joined their Muslim brothers and sisters for the iftaar to show their respect for the holy month of Ramadan. Consul General Simkin read from President Obama’s Ramadan Message, and noted that like India, the U.S. shares a commitment to religious freedom for all its citizens.
