India’s social reform can be linked to the U.S. Civil Rights Movement, according to U.S. Foreign Service Health Practitioner Deborah Edwards. Speaking at the Gandhian Integrated Forum Trust (GIFT) on November 22, Ms. Edwards talked about the legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his mentor Mahatma Gandhi, and how they had influenced millions of Americans and Indians to lead lives based on the values of love, peace and non-violence.
