Mysore ‘Experiences’ America

Over a period of 3 days, thousands of Mysore citizens got to know the United States of America better through lecture discussions, quiz competitions, film screenings and student interactions led by Consulate and Embassy officials on September 14-16.  Topics included “Indo-U.S. Relations under President Obama”; “Youth and Volunteerism”; “Higher Education in the United States;” and “Muslim Life in America” which included a screening of President Obama’s Ramadan greetings.  The Consulate also organized a KNOW U.S. quiz competition that tested students’ knowledge of American history, geography, government, personalities, sports and current events and hosted an “Oscar 2009” film festival of American films that were either nominated or won Oscar award in 2009.
