Corinna Ybarra Arnold

Acting Public Affairs Officer/Cultural Affairs Officer

Corinna Ybarra Arnold joined the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Consulate in Chennai as the Vice- Consul for Cultural Affairs.  She has previously served in Latin America in both Mexico and the Dominican Republic.   A native of Texas, Corinna joined the Department of State in 1998 and joined the Foreign Service in 2008.   In 1992, Corinna graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Psychology.  

Corinna began her professional career at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas - Child Support Enforcement Division and worked there for five years while working on her Master’s Degree.  In 1998, she received a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Political Science and History from the University of Texas in Brownsville.   Her passions include cooking, entertaining and reading.  Corinna is married and has a 4-year-old daughter.
