For expedited/emergency appointments:

If you would like to request an emergency or expedited appointment, please send an e-mail to ChennaiNIV@state.gov, including "Expedited/Emergency Appointment Request" on the subject line. This will help us to reply to you more expediently. Please limit such requests to legitimate emergency situations or urgent travel requirements. Unfortunately, requests for expedited appointment for routine or tourist travel cannot be accommodated at this time.

About pending passports:

If you have not received your passport within 5 working days of your visa appointment, please send an e-mail to ChennaiNIV@state.gov, including ‘Pending Passport for More Than 5 Days’ on the subject line. This will allow us to identify the nature of your request more easily, and will result in a faster response.
