"Journeys Toward Freedom" Exhibition at Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan

An Exhibition Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Pilgrimage to India, Displayed at Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, Anna Salai

Chennai: The U.S. Consulate General in partnership with Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan will present the exhibition titled "Journeys Toward Freedom" at the Khadhi Gramodyog Bhavan outlet in Anna Salai, Chennai - 2. The exhibit will be inaugurated by Mr. Frederick J. Kaplan, Consul for Public Affairs U.S. Consulate General - Chennai on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. and will remain open to public until April 29th, 2009.

Journeys Toward Freedom: The exhibition was produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary (1959-2009) of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.‘s pilgrimage to India. It has 15 panels with pictures and texts depicting Mahatma Gandhi's leadership of the Freedom Struggle in India and its influence on Dr. King's leadership of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.
