USIEF Panel Discussion in Chennai on ‘Internationalism, Individualism and Interchange,’ Thursday, November 20, 2008
Chennai, November 18: United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) and the American Consulate General, Chennai are delighted to invite you to attend and participate in a Panel Discussion on Thursday November 20, 2008 at Anna University, Guindy, Chennai 32.
The two hour program will commence at 9.30 a.m. and is being organized as part of the celebration of International Education Week (IEW) 2008. Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar Vice Chancellor Anna University has kindly consented to deliver opening remarks.
This year, the theme underpinning the week long celebration of International Education Week is Structuring Links for International and Cultural Exchanges (SLICE 2008). USIEF and the American Consulate General, Chennai are collaborating with Anna University to organize this Panel Discussion that will center the spotlight on Internationalism, Individualism and Interchange in tune with the spirit and theme of International Education Week.
The panel’s presentation/talk will focus on global partnerships and exchanges with an accent on Education, creating and fostering successful partnerships/linkages with Indian institutions and a summary of futuristic goals with a possible road map to achieving them. The speakers leading the panel discussion are Mr. Andrew Simkin, Consul General, American Consulate General; Mr. Roland Herrmann, Consul General, German Consulate; Mr. Kiran Bhandari, Regional Director, Singapore Tourism Board; and Mr. Loganathan Dhanasekaran, Head, Education UK, British Council Division.
The panel presentations will be followed by an interactive Q/A session. The audience comprises an eclectic mix of Deans, Administrators, Heads of Departments, Faculty and Policy Makers drawn from across Chennai and Tamil Nadu. The panel discussion and the question/answer session will be moderated by Dr. L. S. Ganesh, Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
