Presentation on Higher Education in the United States

Chennai, February 21, 2008: United States Educational Foundation in India (USEFI) will organize a presentation on “Higher Education in the United States” on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Boston Matriculation School, 532, Old No. 148, T.T.K. Road, Alwarpet, Chennai 18.

The program will highlight the application process to universities in the United States and opportunities at Illinois Institute of Technology. The resource person will be Dr. Vanita Misquita, Director of Overseas Programs, Illinois Institute of Technology, U.S.A. Students and professionals planning to pursue Higher Education in the United States can attend the program.

Dr. Vanita Misquita is the Director of Overseas Programs for Europe, S.E. Asia, Africa and the Middle East for Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA. She has been with Illinois Institute of Technology since 1990 and her years of experience have contributed to the increase in diversity and quality of the student population at IIT. With the opening of the IIT France office, in Paris, France, under her directorship, this started a new wave of establishing a presence in certain continents of the world. IIT is one of the few universities in the U.S. offering unlimited scholarships to international undergraduate students who qualify for admission to IIT at the undergraduate (Bachelor's) level. Under her directorship, IIT has become more aware of the need to help international students at least partially, financially, due to the great demand among quality applicants.

USEFI was established in 1950 through an exchange agreement between India and the United States to administer Fulbright fellowships fostering exchange between Indian and American scholars.
