Noted American Author Eddy Harris To Do Book Readings In Chennai, Bangalore And Hyderabad

Chennai, May 2:   Noted American author Eddy Harris will visit Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad for book readings and lectures organized by the U.S. Consulate General’s Public Affairs Section.

Eddy Harris, who spent his early years in Harlem, New York City, before moving to Missouri, published his first book, “A Mississippi Solo” in 1998.  He traveled extensively through Africa in the early 1990s which resulted in his second book, “Native Stranger” in 1992.  After the publication of his next book “South of Haunted Dreams” in 1993, Eddy Harris moved back to Harlem in the early 1990s and wrote “Still Life in Harlem” in 1996.  He has written numerous articles and reviews for publications such as Outside, Sewanee Review and the Washington Post, and has also served as writer-in-residence at Washington University, St. Louis.  Harris, who currently resides in Paris, wrote his last book “Jupiter et Moi in France” in 2005.  Additional information on Eddy Harris is available at www.eddyharris.com

• BANGALORE: May 4, 2007 (6:30 p.m.): Eddy Harris in conversation with novelist and playwright Vijay Nair at Landmark, Forum Mall, Koramangala, Bangalore
• HYDERABAD: May 7, 2007 (6:30 p.m.): Eddy Harris in conversation with writer Prof.  Alok Bhalla at Akshara Book Store, West Marredpally, Hyderabad
