“The United States is betting that India's greater role in the regional and global economy will pave the way to prosperity worldwide,” U.S. Consul General Jennifer McIntyre said during her address to the Consultative Committee of City Chambers of Commerce on Friday, November 25, 2011.
CG McIntyre added that more needs to be done. “Given the size of our respective economies, we must do better. Both of our markets have enormous untapped potential,” she said, suggesting the reduction of tariff barriers and elimination of non-tariff barriers as two ways the U.S. and India could create mutually beneficial trade opportunities.
