Quiz On Environment In Kozhikode Receives Great Response

The U.S. Consulate General, Chennai, received a tremendous response from high schools across Kozhikode for a quiz contest on the “Environment” organized as part of a traveling exhibition.  52 high school students from 26 schools participated.  All of them keenly watched Nobel Laureate Al Gore’s documentary on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, before the quiz program.  Quiz master, Consul for Cultural Affairs Ragini Gupta asked questions in several rounds, including written, oral, and audio/visual.  In a very close competition, Malabar Christian College Higher Secondary School won the first prize, St. Joseph’s Boys Higher Secondary School the second, MES Raja Residential School (Chathamangalam) the third, MES MCC Central School the fourth and Venerini Higher Secondary School took fifth place.  Mr. C.P. Kunhi Mohammad, President, JDT Group of Educational Institutions presented the trophies and prizes to the winners, along with Prof. Seethalakshmi, Principal, MES Women’s College and Consul for Cultural Affairs Ragini Gupta.
