Ambassador Roemer Visits Chennai

The Ambassador and Chief Minister had a warm and productive meeting. They discussed a broad range of issues of mutual interest between the United States and Tamil Nadu, September 23, 2009.

During his first official trip to Chennai in South India, U.S. Ambassador to India Timothy J. Roemer called on the Chief Minister, visited several of the city’s vibrant social development organizations, met the editorial board of the Hindu, and witnessed the signing of an important MOU between Ford and the Tamil Nadu State Government.  He also visited key religious sites and met hundreds of students, social activists, and business leaders.
